Introducing The Wyoming Collection
The photography, weavings and yarns in this collection are marketed as The Wyoming Collection, an exclusive design and product line of Jeny Originals Yarns and Handwovens. They are available only through Jeny Originals retail outlets and shows and are not produced for resale.
Mike and Jeny Stoesz, husband and wife, approach the same subject from their respective art forms. While both media are two-dimensional, Mike's images emphasize natural light and color, and the weavings feature the visual and kinesthetic textures of the same scene. Jeny's weavings contain representational elements in pattern, yarn textures and color combinations without being pictorial. The two recall the sensations of each environment at the moment it was recorded on film. Photos are available in limited editions of 1-6 prints, complete with a certificate of authenticity. Weavings are one-of-a-kind.
The yarns are hand-dyed in very small lots, usually 1-6 skeins, in the colors of the photographs. Extensive color mixing is necessary to obtain the unique hues of the Wyoming landscapes and a photo tag is attached to each skein. The solid and variegated colors are dyed in a wide variety of natural fibers and blends and custom yarns created from the fibers of western ranch animals also complement this collection.
