Bisondown Yarn

This is a unique Wyoming yarn of 50% bison down (the wool right next to the hide) and 50% soft cormo wool. After gathering the yarn off the prairie when the buffalo shed, hand cleaning it, and sending it to the mill to be further processed and spun, we are rewarded with 25-50 skeins per year. Slightly itchy to the touch because all of the guard hairs cannot be removed, it still makes excellent outer garments, hats and mittens. Seven times warmer than wool, this yarn is well received in cold climates. One skein is approximately 2 oz, 100 yds and sells for $30.00 to $32.00 depending upon exact weight. The 2007 supply, received in November, was 30 skeins. Order quickly.
