About Us

Mike and JenyMike and Jeny Stoesz, husband and wife, believe Wyoming is truly God's country. They wanted to create something that would allow Wyoming's beauty to leave with visitors and at the same time remain in the state with its residents. Their solution was to cooperate on aspects of their individual businesses, essentially creating an avenue of products where both could participate: Jeny Originals Yarns and Handwovens.

Mike has spent most of his life as an award-winning photojournalist, and more recently as owner of Laramie Digital/Photo Center. He has also been active in historic preservation and community planning in Albany County, settling in Laramie after a stint in the U.S. Navy. He began photographing Wyoming 43 years ago and draws on over 30,000 images for the Wyoming Collection photos, offered through his wife's business, Jeny Originals Yarns and Handwovens.

Jeny has been active as a performing artist, writer and arts educator earning her Ph.D. in Education with an interdisciplinary emphasis in art, music, dance and theatre. She acquired her first of five looms 8 years ago at a garage sale and then honed her weaving skills at Gaelic College on Cape Breton Island, Canada. Jeny has been a Wyoming resident for 50 years and strives to make her experiences of sage, stars, rocks and rivers vivid through her weavings. She presents her yarns and weavings through her business, Jeny Originals Yarns and Handwovens.

Our annual supply of Bisondown arrived! Order early. We have a limited supply, as buffalo only shed their downy coat once a year.
How do you like the look of Jeny Originals' newly rebuilt website? You have been asking, so now you can purchase our special products without having to come all the way to Wyoming. (We like visitors; come anyway).
